ATF 344 - Ford Driveline & 4x4 Diag/Rpr Credits: 2 Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 2 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech Students will study rear axle and differential design and operation, driveshaft construction, transfer case design and operation. Students will also perform diagnosis and repair operation of each. Prerequisite: Admission to Automotive Student Service Ed Training (ASSET) Competencies

- Discuss the construction of FWD axles.
- Inspect drive axle problems for diagnosis.

- Identify the different types of transfer cases.

- Illustrate the operation of the transfer case.
- Diagnose transfer case problems.
- Service/replace a transfer case.
- Investigate manual transmissions.
- Discuss purpose of clutch
- Review clutch linkage
- Describe operation of manual transmission
