ADM 215 - Medical Office Procedures Credits: 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Practicum Hours: 0 Work Experience: 0 Course Type: Voc/Tech This course presents basic administrative skills in a medical facility. Study includes identification of medical specialties, medical law, ethics and professionalism. Administrative skills and responsibilities are studied to include telephone techniques, appointment scheduling and management of medical records. Government regulatory agencies for healthcare facilities are identified, to include HIPPA and mandate reporter. Students are introduced to medical office computerized management software. Prerequisite: HSC 120 with a “C” or better and BCA 160 with a “C” or better Competencies
