During this course, students will become familiar with the basic setups as well as safe operation and care of a lathe in a lab environment. Corequisite: MFG 250 Competencies
- ‘Off-Hand’ grind cutting tools for lathe
- Layout work pieces
- Operate a lathe
- Perform daily maintenance requirements
- Setup the following accessories ? four-jaw chuck, quick-change tool holder
- Perform common operating procedures; facing, drilling, turning, chamfering, knurling, taper turning, form turning, single point threading, aligning centers, and boring
